(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Yuba County officials are attempting to correct what is described as widespread misinformation – both electronic and word of mouth – regarding the death of a 14-year-old Lindhurst High School student.

Autumn Estes was found dead on the campus last week.

The Yuba County Sheriff Public Information Officer tells The Appeal-Democrat their investigation hasn’t turned up any indications the student was bullied and there’s “substantial evidence” the student was alone when she died. They are however asking for any information regarding bullying of the student that the public can provide.

The PIO also addresses rumors of “white men with masks” pointing guns at people attending a vigil for the girl, acknowledging deputies responded to a disturbance at the location it took place, and that a juvenile sustained minor injuries in an altercation, but no firearms were located.

None-the-less, a ‘Walk against bullying in memory of Autumn’ is planned for tomorrow afternoon at 4:00, at Mountain Mike’s Pizza in Marysville.
