(West Sacramento, CA) — Oakland Athletics’ and Sacramento River Cats’ officials are having a meeting today. The two sides have been discussing using the River Cats’ Sutter Health Park as the A’s temporary home after this season. This will be the second time A’s officials have visited the stadium this year.
As it stands, their lease for the Oakland Coliseum expires after this MLB season, and their new stadium in Las Vegas is not expected to open until 2028. On Tuesday, A’s and Oakland officials discussed extending the Coliseum lease through 2029, but the meeting doesn’t appear to have been very productive.
A’s officials came out of it saying they are still far apart with the city on the terms needed to agree to an extension.
