(Sacramento, CA) — Northern California faces continued elevated fire risks due to high temperatures, some gusty winds, and low humidity. Residents are urged to avoid activities that could ignite blazes, especially in at-risk areas.

Cal OES Fire Chief Brian Marshall says the fuel conditions also make it more likely fires will spread. According to the National Weather Service, the areas most at risk are in the northern Sacramento Valley, along Interstate 5 in Sacramento, and in the northeastern Sierra Nevada foothills.
