(South Lake Tahoe, CA) — The El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office will not press charges against a man who shot and killed a black bear cub at his home in South Lake Tahoe. The D.A.’s Office made the announcement Tuesday, following an independent review of the evidence.
The man killed the 75 to 85-pound bear on May 27th, after it walked into the home through a back door. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife says the man shouted and waived his arms at the bear, but it started huffing and moving toward his dog. The man shot the bear twice in the house and once after it went outside.
