(NorCal, CA) – DWR officials conducted their annual new year Sierra snow-pack survey yesterday and the numbers are encouraging: Statewide, it’s at 174% of the beginning of the year average. At Phillip’s Station just west of Lake Tahoe, the snow measured at a depth of justrt under 5 feet, 177% of average.

Again however, officials caution that the good news is guarded, as going into 2022, out water & snow numbers were similarly impressive, before we had the driest Jan-March on record, and the 3 year period from 2020 through 2022 are the driest recorded since records began being kept in 1896.
