(Grass Valley, CA) — Volunteers and personnel from the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office are cleaning up nine homeless encampments in Grass Valley. Responding to illegal camping concerns, a meeting with property owners led to a cleanup consensus. Staff and volunteers removed 98 yards of waste in five hours on Thursday.

Property owners are taking steps to prevent future camping, and individuals from the camps were offered shelter and housing services.
