(Truckee, CA) — The Tahoe National Forest in Northern California will become the beneficiary of an agreement between a state and national forest agency. The nearly 120-million-dollar grant will go towards reducing wildfire risk.
The agreement means the National Forest Foundation will fund the treatment of the North Yuba Landscape Resilience Project, a project that manages vegetation and fuel. Forest Service officials said that area in Truckee is one of the most at-risk for a “catastrophic” fire.
