(Rocklin, CA) — The murder suspect who escaped from a hospital in Roseville is back behind bars today. Thirty-five-year-old Eric Abril was rearrested after he was found hiding in a green belt in Rocklin early Monday afternoon. He was captured more than a day after leaving Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office reports a homeowner called 911 after seeing Abril. He was found in nothing but belly chains and jail-issued underwear and had several cuts.
He was initially arrested in April after a violent standoff near Mahany Park in which he allegedly shot and killed a hostage.
