(Oroville, CA) – A murder investigation has been launched in Oroville after deputies responded yesterday to reports of shots fired in the 6300 block of Custer Lane, where a person had been fatally shot.
Life saving measures were unsuccessful, and the victim’s identity has not been released.
At this time the investigation indicates four people drove to the Custer Lane residence and attempted to take a generator, during which, according to the Butte County Sheriff’s office press release, there was an altercation between 54-year-old Darren Moran and the shooting victim.
Following the shooting, two of the four people who attempted to take the generator fled to an address at the corner of Wyandotte Avenue and Lower Wyandotte Road where they were arrested on unrelated warrants and Moran was arrested for murder.
