(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Sutter County Sheriff reports a murder and arrest in Yuba City.

Deputies responded Monday morning at around 9:30 to a report of a shooting in the 1800 block of Allen Court where they found 32-year-old Jugdeep Mann of Yuba City “with multiple apparent gunshot wounds.” Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.

The murder suspect was identified as 22-year Roberto Robinson, whom witnesses said had a run to a residence at 1850 Anthony Way. He then barricaded himself in. After several hours of negotiation by the Sutter County Hostage Negotiations Team (HNT), Robinson surrendered to the Sutter County Special Enforcement Detail (SED).

Robinson is being held without bail.

A press release states a motive for the shooting has yet to be determined and thanks the assistance of the “Yuba City Police Department, the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, Sutter County Fire, Sutter County Probation, Bi-County Ambulance and the California Highway Patrol, Sutter County District Attorney’s Investigations, for their response and assistance with this investigation.”
