(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – A multi-jurisdictional effort has resulted in the arrest of Anthony Squitieri, a parolee at large, likely armed and wanted in Yuba County.
Deputies contacted Squitieri while he was sleeping in a stolen vehicle Sunday. However, when they woke him up, he sped off and successfully evaded capture.
Yuba County then alerted surrounding law enforcement agencies and Monday, Lincoln Police spotted the suspect vehicle in a parking lot, and again, Squitieri was sleeping. This time, prior to waking him, deputies deployed spike strips under the tires and then awoke him.
Again, Squitieri attempted to speed off, but the spikes punctured the tires, which, a press release notes “greatly reduced the vehicle’s ability to drive at a high rate of speed.” None-the-less, Squitieri managed to lead Lincoln Police on a chase lasting an hour-and-a-half, before he was taken into custody without further incident.
