(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Marysville School District officials, including the Superintendent and the Principal of Arboga Elementary School, were joined by Yuba County’s Assistant Director of Public Works, in conducting a traffic observation of student drop-off & pick-up activity. The investigation is an effort to find a solution to traffic congestion, which they acknowledge has been a problem for years. However, many parents report that since returning from COVID lockdowns, congestion has become worse than ever.

The Superintendent tells The Appeal-Democrat the primary reasons are recent campus expansion to include additional grade levels and increased construction of new homes in the area.

Solutions offered yesterday include road signs directing parents to park along the side of the road while waiting for their children, establishing a carpool system and closing Broadway Road during pick up hours.

Additional observation sessions are scheduled for next week.
