(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – If not for the actions of 32-year-old Amandeep Singh late Tuesday night, when he approached, disarmed and took down a gunman at the Lakeside Indian Cuisine Bar & Grill in Marysville, the MPD Chief says “There may have been a different outcome.”

Singh intervened when 26-year-old Roy Lavern Kirk Jr. of Clear Lake Oaks pulled into the parking lot, got out of his vehicle, fired one round into the air as party goers inside came out to see what was happening. He then fired 4 or 5 additional rounds into the air., thereafter, pointed the gun at a group of people standing in front of him. That’s when Singh intervened as he tackled and disarmed Kirk Jr.

Kirk Jr. is also the suspect identified “brandishing a firearm in the parking lot of a gas station on Colusa Highway in Yuba City” according to an MPD release.
