(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Today’s special meeting of the Marysville City Council will also include “talkin’ baseball” according to the agenda posted online.
There is apparently a Pioneer League professional team in Davis, interested in making Bryant Field their new home. The use agreement reportedly included major upgrades such as a quarter-million-dollar scoreboard, padding around the outfield “and upgrades to other parts.”
Additionally, the team “is committed to being an active part of the community” and will contribute “around $67,000 annually in in-kind services” and “assume responsibilities for maintenance, repairs and security.”
Of note, the city will reimburse the team up to a quarter-million-dollars from the General Fund for capitol improvements, and in return, be reimbursed at 50-cents per ticket.
