(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Marysville City Council has unanimously approved a $779,000 demolition contract for the Hotel Marysville, with J.M. Environmental of Granite Bay.

Mobilization and permitting begins today according to a timeline released by the city, with a target date of January 31st to fully reopen E Street,

In the short term, the city is indicating the hazardous debris will be transported to a landfill “outside the city limits.” As well, according to the timeline, we should know by the end of May whether the $4-million grant the city applied for with the EPA, for ultimate hazardous waste disposal is approved. If not, the timeline indicates the city will reapply on the first of November next year.
