(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Marysville City Council at their meeting Tuesday night, unanimously approved an Ellis Lake Master Plan consulting agreement to help revitalize the area with Roach & Campbell Landscape Architects.

The Appeal-Democrat reports improvements may include a 6-foot-wide bicycle and pedestrian path, playgrounds and tot lots, a small stage for night use and even a kayak / paddle boat launch site.

Improvement to the water quality at Ellis lake were also addressed.

The council also voted unanimously on a location for a Cotton Rosser bronze statue. The local legend passed away in July of last year, and placement of that statue was earlier proposed for Plaza Park near the Silver Dollar Saloon. However, the paper reports, with input from the Rosser family and Friends of the Marysville Stampede Committee, Washington Square Park was selected.
