(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Marysville City Council has approved the purchase of body and vehicle cameras for the police department. The agreement is with a company, Lens Lock, which, for just over $49,000 a year, provides 22 body cams, 13 vehicle cams, installation, hardware, warranty, unlimited data & cloud based storage and replacement of all cameras every 30 months “with newer, more up to date technology” according to The Appeal-Democrat.
The agreement runs through June, 2028.
In advocating for the purchase, the police chief told the council his department was the only agency in the region without body & vehicle cams, and a poll of his officers and staff indicated they all felt “these are an advantageous tool to our job.”
