(Shasta County, CA) – A suspect was arrested Saturday for allegedly stealing from a Park Fire evacuated residence in the Shasta County community of Manton.
Jay Wood of Burney was initially pulled over for a vehicle code violation and refused to provide proper I.D. That earned him cuffs, a seat in the back of a patrol vehicle and further investigation.
In addition to finding stolen items from a Manton home, Wood is on probation and has “several warrants for his arrest” according to Action News. Those warrant charges include assault with a deadly weapon.
In addition to the stolen items found, Wood also reportedly had over an ounce of meth in his vehicle and a Social Security card not in his name.
