(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The ‘walls came tumbling down’ yesterday at Foothill Intermediate School as the Marysville Joint Unified school District held a demolition party to make way for a remodeled version of the school. It’s all part of an ongoing efforts by the school district to ‘modernize’ the facility, as The Appeal-Democrat reports the original structure was built in 1975. Construction work will be ongoing for the immediate future, with major improvements planned fro everything from restrooms to classrooms to lighting, as well as a library and a computer room being upgraded.
For the interim, the paper reports Principal Ashley Vette ‘expressed gratitude’ to all who have made this possible and are currently dealing with the overhaul, with the temporary transition to portable classrooms.
The project is expected to be completed by next summer.
