(Loma Rica, CA) – Cal Fire / Nevada-Yuba-Placer unit crews responded late yesterday morning to a grass fire off Fruitland Road in Loma Rica, putting a quick stop to it.

A photo was posted to their Twitter account showing hand crews at work in the background with a charred, blackened riding lawnmower in the foreground, with a caption explaining “residents are advised to do yardwork prior to 10:00 a.m. when humidity levels are at their highest,” adding “please keep in mind that lawnmowers are for cutting green grass.”

There is no green grass visible in any of the three picture posted.
