(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Several local schools have earned State Distinguished Status from the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, recognizing California schools that “close the achievement gap and demonstrate exceptional student performance.”
The local schools designated as State Distinguished are: The Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts, Lloyd G. Johnson Jr. High in Arbuckle and Live Oak Middle School.
Live Oak Middle School also earned a 2024 California School to Watch by the State Department of Education, one of only 52 middle schools statewide to earn designation for “demonstrating sustained progress.”
