(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Both the Yuba-Sutter Narcotics & Gang Enforcement Task Force and Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force are credited by Federal officials in helping break a major Mexican drug trafficking and money laundering operation. The operation ultimately led to the arrest of one of its leaders, 28-year-old Luis Lopez-Zamora of Tijuana, who was indicted in Federal Court in Sacramento last Friday, for fentanyl, cocaine & meth trafficking and money laundering.
Eight other defendants have already pled guilty and six sentenced, according to the U.S. Attorney in Sacramento.
Including Lopez-Zamora, a total of fourteen arrests were made.
