(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – In Yuba County Court, a jury has found 61-year-old Laurence Lang guilty of first degree murder, in the shooting death of Robert Zandstra.
The shooting occurred on April 6th of last year, when a woman confronted Lang on Country Club Court in Linda, about allowing his dog to urinate on a car. According to a release from the Yuba County D.A., the argument quickly escalated and Zandstra intervened, telling Lang “not to speak to a woman that way.” Lang then walked to his apartment, got a gun, returned to Country Club Court and confronted Zandstra with the weapon.
Surveillance video shows Zandstra backing away, hands up, and Lang “carefully aimed and fired three times.” Zandstra then collapsed, Lang walked up until he was standing directly over him, as Zandstra was lying in pain crying “no, no, no!” Lang then shot him three more times before “casually turning around and walking back to his apartment.”
Lang was paroled in 2019 after 30 years in prison for a murder conviction in Los Angeles.
