(Butte County, CA) – Here’s the latest from Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea on Wednesday afternoon’s shooting at Feather River Adventist School in Palermo: He reports that the 5 and 6-year-old boys critically wounded are in stable condition. The families add that the youths have been through multiple surgeries, but indications are, although a long road ahead, there are encouraging signs of recovery.
Meanwhile, the shooter has been identified as 56-year-old Glenn Litton, homeless, primarily “between the Sacramento and Chico area.” Litton had a lengthy criminal & mental health issue-history and his appointment with an administrator at the school to discuss enrolling a child was a ruse to get onto campus, targeting the school because of his affiliation with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, which he believes is involved “in the genocide and oppression of Palestinians and the U.S. attack on Yemen.”
A gathering is scheduled at 5:30 this evening at the Oroville Convention Center where cards will be available to sign that will be delivered to the injured boys, 6-year-old Roman Mendez and 5-year-old Elias Wolford.
