(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – A mixed ruling for the City of Marysville from Yuba County Judge Stephen Berrier yesterday; The Hotel Marysville “presents a clear and imminent danger” – But, he denied Marysville’s requested warrant to begin demolition without the consent of the owner, The Feather River Plaza LLC.

However, The Appeal-Democrat reports that Berrier is allowing a limited emergency warrant to the city that allows personnel to enter and “shore up” the structure. The city issued a release that “shoring up” is not feasible due primarily to asbestos throughout the building, saying there is a risk to workers doing the shoring up, of the structure collapsing on them.

The City of Marysville release also indicates that the city may proceed with demolition under the provision of the Municipal Nuisance Abatement Code.
