(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The identity of the 93-year-old man killed in a collision in south Sutter County last Friday afternoon has been released. Originally identified as a Wheatland resident in the CHP Yuba-Sutter report, The Appeal-Democrat, citing the Sutter County Sheriff’s office, reports the victim was 93-year-old Joe Otto King of Nicolaus.
King was headed east on Cornelius at the Pleasant Grove Road stop-sign and reportedly pulled out into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by a 19-year-old Citrus Heights man. His vehicle could not avoid broadsiding the driver’s side of King’s vehicle.
Neither the Citrus Heights man nor his two passengers were injured.
Alcohol and/or drugs are not considered factors.
