(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The City of Marysville is declaring a State of Emergency in the aftermath of the Hotel Marysville fire last Saturday night.

A press conference is scheduled for this morning at 10:00 at City Hall, where details will be provided. That will come after this morning’s special Marysville City Council meeting, where it’s expected the council will outline steps to be taken following the emergency report.

That emergency report concluded that the Hotel Marysville “is at significant risk of failure…with little to no warning time.” A press release notes that the fire “has not only disrupted transit but poses a severe threat to the business community.” It adds the emergency declaration will “enable the city to seek state and federal assistance and implement necessary measures to support recovery efforts.”
