(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Another historic building in Downtown Marysville is suffering from damage. The State Theater was vandalized earlier this week, in what authorities say appears to have been a break-in attempt.
The theater was built in 1927. Its neighbor, the Hotel Marysville, was built in 1926. On Saturday, the hotel was badly damaged by a major fire.
Highway 70 through Marysville is still closed because of that fire. There is concern that the building is unstable and could damage passing vehicles.
