(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Habitat for Humanity Yuba-Sutter is the recipient of a grant of over $7-million to develop a project intended for families in Olivehurst. The Appeal-Democrat reports it comes as part of Gov. Newsome’s effort to create more affordable housing in California.
The money will go toward the development of a 124-unit affordable “Multi-Family Housing Project” on 2nd Avenue & Chestnut Road in Olivehurst. The organization says however that the grant will not cover the full cost of the project, but will cover the first phase of development.
As the project nears competition, Habitat will make an announcement and begin collection applications for those interested in living in that complex that is specifically for families.
