(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – In Yuba County Superior Court, 50-year-old Larry Lee Anderson, Jr. of Plumas Lake has pled guilty to murder, DUI causing injury and hit & run, in exchange for an agreement he’ll be sentenced to 15 to life, avoiding the maximum sentence of 18 to life.

Back on February 26th, Anderson attempted a pass on Feather River Boulevard at over 100 mph, between another vehicle making a pass, driven by 34-year-old Lindhurst High School Assistant Football Coach Shane Bunn, and the slow moving vehicle he was passing. Anderson hit both vehicles, launching Bunn’s vehicle into an irrigation canal and killing him instantly, according to a release from the Yuba County DA’s Public Information Officer.

Anderson then fled the scene and was found by Yuba County Sheriff’s deputies and Yuba-Sutter CHP officers six hours later, when he tested double the legal driving limit of .16% BAC.

According to the release, “Sentencing is scheduled for September 11, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., when Anderson will be sentenced to a prison term of 15-years-to-life.”
