(Sacramento, CA) — California Governor Gavin Newsom is postponing his annual State of the State address. The fate of Proposition One, his key mental health initiative, is still undecided. The measure, which is aimed at addressing homelessness and mental health care with six-point-four billion dollars in funding, faces a close outcome following the March 5th ballot.
Newsom’s delay comes as fewer than 20-thousand votes separate “Yes” and “No” on the proposition, with no official call made yet.
A spokesperson confirmed the postponement and says a new date will be announced in coordination with the Legislature.
