(Morgantown, WV) — A former Sacramento Kings executive is out of prison early. Jeffrey David pleaded guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. In June of 2019, he was sentenced to seven years in prison. The Federal Bureau of Prisons says David was released from a prison in West Virginia last month.
David was once the Kings’ Chief Revenue Officer. He was in charge of negotiating sponsorships and marketing agreements between the team and different companies. But, he defrauded those companies between 2012 and 2016. Money he told them was going to the Kings was actually going straight into bank accounts that he controlled.
David stole 13-point-four-million-dollars from five companies.
