(San Antonio, TX) – A former Beale Air Force Commander has been formally charged with sexual assault, dereliction of duty and conduct unbecoming of an officer.
Major General Phillip A. Stewart was fired from his post as 19th Air Force Commander at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph in May due to a “loss of confidence in his ability to lead” according to The Air force Times, after less than a year on the job.
Stewart was Commander at Beale from May 2012 until June of 2014. He has a hearing on the 24th of this month to consider whether there is enough evidence for court-martial.
