(Sacramento, CA) — Sacramento County health officials say one person has died in connection with the West Nile Virus. Officials say a person in their 70s was taken to the hospital with an underlying chronic disease involving the virus.

Officials say it’s the first death this year that’s connected to the West Nile Virus.
