(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Marysville fire crews, with assistance from Linda & Yuba City Fire Departments, responded to a home fire at 630 D Street, just before 10:00 yesterday morning. The fire was contained to “the upstairs section of the house” according to The Appeal-Democrat, as four residents are now “rendered homeless.”

The paper reports it is a 19th century house, owned by Bill Baldner “who asserts the home was built for Stephen J. Field, a gold rush era Marysville attorney appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court by Abraham Lincoln.”
