Yuba-Sutter/Sacramento, CA) — A three-day strike involving about 40-percent of Kaiser Permanente employees in California and six other states could begin today. The affected healthcare workers have been without a contract since Saturday.
Kaiser Permanente says it’s still negotiating with the leaders of several unions in hopes of reaching a tentative deal. So far, the two sides are in agreement on travel for continuing education, the use of temporary workers like traveling nurses, tracking of staffing vacancies, and dispute resolution.
The Kaiser employees have not negotiated a new labor contract since before the pandemic started. Bargaining has been happening since April.
