(Oroville, CA) – After reaching just shy of 861 feet on March 17th, The Department of Water Resources has now increased releases out of Lake Oroville to as high as 36,000 cubic feet per second for several days to create flood control space. The releases should reduce the lake’s level down to 856 feet by April 21st.
Now, DWR is releasing in the 9,500 cfs range, around 3,500 cfs less than inflow, allowing the lake to slowly rise.
As of this morning, the lake was at 859 feet, 83% of capacity.
