(Undated) — A rare meteor shower will light up California’s sky this week. The Draconid meteor shower, which happens every October, started Sunday and ends Thursday. Draconids are different from other meteor showers because they are visible throughout the night.

According to the online journal Earth Sky, there’s a higher chance of viewing the meteor shower in North America tonight. Weather permitting, Californians may be able to see shooting stars. Binoculars aren’t required.
