(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – At their meetings this week, both the Marysville & Yuba City School Boards voted to move forward with layoffs of several positions in the districts that have used state & federal emergency funds made possible due to the COVID pandemic. Those jobs will be discontinued effective July 1st of this year.
In Marysville, ten part-time health aids are among those affected, currently working an average of 7-1/2 hours a week, according to The Appeal-Democrat.
In Yuba City, numerous employees working so-called classified positions, such as para-educators, office specialists, cancer techs, instructional aids and intervention specialists, are affected.
