(Yuba-Sutter, CA) — A rare, cold summer storm is expected to move into Northern California and the Yuba-Sutter area later this week. By the end of the week, the region will face a chance of rain and thunderstorms, along with a chance of snow in the Sierra. The northern and central Sacramento Valley are most likely to see rain, thunderstorms with lightning, and small hail.
Winds of 20-to-25-miles-per-hour are also likely.
In the Sierra, the coldest weather should come late Friday into early Saturday. Lows are expected to dip into the 20s and 30s. Forecasters say the snow level will start at about 84-hundred feet on Friday afternoon and drop to nearly 81-hundred feet by early Saturday.
