(Davis, CA) — A driver intentionally drove the wrong way on the shoulder of an interstate to strike two officers in their patrol vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash occurred on Interstate 80 near Mace Boulevard in Davis on Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect drove westbound on the eastbound shoulder to collide with the CHP vehicle. The officers, who were wearing seatbelts, sustained minor to major injuries and were hospitalized.
The wrong-way driver was arrested and will face charges. Police have not disclosed the charges yet.
