(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Sutter County Sheriff’s office reports two child abuse arrests in Live Oak after dispatch received a call Wednesday afternoon at 3:30, and responded to the 9000 block of Maple Park to a report of a 4-year-old with “significant facial injuries.”
Deputies rendered aid on-site and ensured the child’s transporttion to the hospital. A press release notes, “The juvenile is out of medical care and safe.”
The child’s mother, 38- year-old Christina Brokenbrough of Live Oak and 27-year-old Jamahl Alqahhaar of Yuba City, who was located by detectives in Biggs, were arrested. Her charges include child abuse with great bodily injury, with bail set at $50,000. Alqahhaar’s charges include attempted murder with bail set at $1-million.
Both are scheduled for arraignment today.
