(Butte County, CA) – In Butte County Court yesterday, 21-year-old Jaden Hollowell of Chico pled no contest to attempted 1st degree murder, for shooting a Yuba City man in the face. The incident occurred last September and left the victim paralyzed.
The D.A. tells The Enterprise-Record that Hollowell and a 16-year-old accomplice lured the 25-year-old Yuba City man, described as a marijuana dealer, to the parking lot of an apartment complex on Notre Dame Boulevard in Chico. There, they pulled guns on him as he sat in his pickup. Hollowell then shot him in the face when he thought the Yuba City man was also pulling out a gun.
Hollowell was on probation for domestic violence & possessing a concealed firearm convictions. His juvenile accomplice is still being sought.
