(NorCal, CA) – Caltrans is providing an update on the Highway 70 closure between Jarbo Gap & the Greenville Wye, due to “continuing slide activity” as two locations: One, just east of Belden that officials say remains active, and signs of further instability were also noted earlier this week, higher on the slope above the original slide activity occurred. However, cleanup cannot proceed until the area is deemed safe.
The second slide activity area, west of Rush Creek between Belden & Twain also remains active and unsafe to begin any removal operations.
There is no estimated time of reopening, even to allow one-way limited traffic control.
