(Monterey Park, CA) — Governor Gavin Newsom says the Second Amendment is becoming a “suicide pact” in the wake of recent mass shootings in the state.
The governor is calling for stricter gun laws after two more shootings in two days in California – most recently Monday in Half Moon Bay where seven people were killed and one injured. He says accessibility to high-powered weapons is part of the problem, even in the state with the strictest gun laws in the U.S. In the three shootings in California over the past two weeks, all three suspects owned their guns legally.
