(Chico, CA) — California’s largest wildfire in years, the Park Fire, has burned just over 401-thousand-500 acres, making it the state’s fourth-largest wildfire in recorded history. The blaze, which started on July 24th at Upper Bidwell Park, has destroyed hundreds of homes across Butte and Tehama counties.
As of Sunday evening, the fire is 31-percent contained. While its growth has slowed, higher temperatures on Sunday led to increased fire activity. Close to 640 structures have been destroyed.
