(Sacramento, CA) — A firefighting engineer from Cal Fire, accused of starting at least five fires in Northern California, has been arrested. The suspect, 38-year-old Robert Hernandez, was taken into custody at the Howard Forest Station in Willits.
It’s believed that he set the fires while he was off duty. He’s expected to face charges for starting fires in forest lands. The fires happened in August and September in the areas around Geyserville, Healdsburg, and Windsor in Sonoma County.
The fires were relatively small, burning less than an acre all together.
