(Sacramento, CA) — California is getting a short break to recover before another storm strikes. After two days of heavy rain and high winds, more than 59-thousand people are still without power. And some could stay that way going into the weekend.

Crews are racing to cleanup and make repairs. Most of the damage appears to be from fallen trees but coastal beaches were hit hard. Part of a pier collapsed in Santa Cruz County.
