(Sacramento, CA) — Multiple Northern California counties have suspended burn permits for outdoor residential burning starting today. Cal Fire officials announced that the suspension affects Alpine, Amador, El Dorado, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Nevada, Yuba, Placer, and Sierra counties.
This suspension extends previous restrictions in Amador and El Dorado counties from June 10th.
The ban prohibits the burning of landscape debris such as branches and leaves. Cal Fire urges residents to use this time to ensure their properties have a minimum of 100 feet of defensible space and to be prepared for potential evacuations.
