(Browns Valley, CA) – 34-year-old Jim Fiske of Browns Valley has pled no contest to arson for setting fires in the area of Scott Grant Road on June 15th, resulting in the Scott Fire. That blaze grew to 115 acres before Cal Fire crews contained it. No structures were impacted and no one was injured.

Fiske was caught by Cal Fire investigators, utilizing video evidence from multiple residences & businesses, showing him in the area of the fire’s origin. As well, after he was taken into custody July 20th, a witness came forward confessing she was with Fiske when he started the fire, reporting that when he lit storm matches and burned her with them when he became angry with her, then threw them out of the window of a truck.
